We celebrated Kenner's 6th birthday today! I know if I don't post this now while I'm in the blogging mood who knows if it'll ever make it up.
He got up bright and early to head to school. He was quick to inform the bus driver that it was his birthday. Before she shut the door I heard her say, "Oh, it's your birthday, we'll have to sing to you!"
He came home adorned with a birthday crown and sticker. He also had a fun little gift pack from his teacher and a little card signed by all his friends in class. He got to share cookies with his class and I think it was a fun day for him.
He wanted to open a present before he left to school. I didn't have it wrapped yet but it was packed in the box it came in and was wrapped enough for him!
Ah, new trains!
He was thrilled!
He was thrilled!
Opened a card from his Great Grandparents before dinner. Satisfied his desire to open something. Pleased to find $20!
We headed to our usual place to celebrate, the Olive Garden. Enjoyed a nice meal there and headed home for presents.
The boys have really gotten into Thomas the Train lately. They finally started playing with that Figure 8 track Kenner got several Christmas's ago from grandparents. So, I decided for Kenner's birthday we'd get some more track and a few trains. Hoping to carry on their interest until Christmas when I can get more stuff!
Well, earlier this week I was out visiting and somehow we started talking about trains and she had a huge tubberware full of track and misc. trains and bridges etc. and she wanted to get rid of it. The stuff I had ordered online had already arrived but after telling Wayne about it and how much she was asking he was like "Get it!" So, we spent $25 more and got a ton more track then we would've had and several bridges and other parts and trains. Knowing how much the wood train stuff sales for probably 1-2 of them would've made up the price difference. So, I sent back the other set I got that was small in comparison and we totally outfitted the boys (I mean Kenner, it was his birthday right?! But we knew they were both going to play with it and maybe fight over it.) with track and trains to their hearts content!
I separated out the tubberware of stuff I got into a few different boxes to give him several things to open.
Myer is so very interested and right by his side!
Also got a "First day of School" post up below incase you didn't see it.
