Hey everyone look at me!

I just have a little silly/embarrassing experience I thought I'd share.

Myer had his 15 month check up on Monday. It was a very rainy day. It was great getting all the rain, we need it, but I hate when I have to go out and it is pouring like that.

Maybe to set this story up I must back track a few weeks. I was out driving to go visiting teaching and it was a rainy day that day as well. Well, my windshield wiper all of a sudden comes off and is scraping across my window. I was able to get it back on and thought the clip was maybe broken but it seemed to be fine and I actually kinda forgot about it. Well, I'm driving to this appt. on Monday when all of a sudden the wiper comes off again and is scraping across my window. "Oh great," I think "not again!" Luckily I was almost there so I just had to turn it off and just wipe the window a couple more times to clear it until I got there. When I turned it on to scrape though, it made this terrible screeching noise. I have a permanent scrape across my window now from it. Anyways, I go in to my appt and when I come out, it is POURING really bad now. I was thinking I'd just have to wait it out and be stuck here because my wiper isn't working which I really didn't want to do.

I decided to get out of the car to see if I could fix it, but the little clasp thing had flown away this time. I think I saw it fly off while I was driving. So, I tried to reattach the wiper and went and tried it and it seemed to be staying so I decided to try leaving. It was wiping back and forth pretty good but all of a sudden it came off again. Eek! Luckily I was by some neighborhoods so I pulled off onto the street and into someone's driveway to fix it since the roads were flooding with water. I fixed it again and tried going again and didn't get very far before it happened again. So, I turned at the light and stopped down at this little convenient store. Sitting there I finally decided to go in and see if they sold windshield wipers. The couple was some different nationality and I don't think the lady spoke much English. I asked if they sold windshield wipers and the guy was like "oh yes, back in that corner." So, I walk back there and I'm not seeing them. So, I said, "umm I'm not seeing them." He asked me again what I was looking for and I told him and he's all "oh, I thought you said the restroom, they are over here." So, I walk down a few more aisles as he's guiding me from the counter where to go. I get on that aisle and am still not seeing them. So, he asks again what I was looking for and I tell him and he's like "oh, I thought you wanted window cleaner, no sorry we don't sell those." Bahhhh!!

I decided if I wanted to get home anytime soon I was going to have to pull the wiper off, and stick the thing in the air so I could use the other wiper, which luckily was on my side so I could still see. So, there I went driving down the street and freeway to get home feeling like a total dork, with my one windshield wiper waving in the air with no blade on it! I'm sure it was a funny site to anyone that may have seen and wondered what the heck I was doing but hey I wanted to get home and this was my best solution. I didn't want to stop and drag Myer out in the rain to more places to see if they had wipers and besides that I probably wouldn't have known what one to get or how to put it on. So, I just drove home embarrassed as can be at every stop light I had to stop at and had Wayne go fix it when I got home! What a dork I am.

Easter

I'm a bit slow on getting Easter pics posted. I blame that on the fact that my laptop died and I'm not using my usual computer that I'm accustomed to and I can't use it whenever I want. But here are some from a few events prior to Easter. And then I have posted two other posts below this so don't miss those!

Our ward had an Easter party the Friday before Easter. They had a dinner, some games, and an Easter egg hunt. Unfortunately, Wayne got stuck working and I ended up taking the kids all by myself. That was a bit rough but we survived. I didn't get as many pics or as good of ones as I wanted of Kenner at the Easter egg hunt. He took off and I could barely keep up with him with Myer in hand and all these bags over my shoulder.

Here's a few pics from the party.

A lady handed Myer an egg (it was empty) but he thought it was the greatest treasure ever!

Then on Saturday I decided Kenner would enjoy having another egg hunt in the backyard. He hardly got any the day before and I wanted more pics of him hunting eggs. So, I hid a bunch of eggs in the backyard and we sent the boys out on a hunt.

I gave Myer an egg to put in his bucket hoping it'd get the idea in his head that if he found an egg it'd go in his bucket. Well, once he got the one egg he was good to go.
He was content to sit with the one egg and enjoy it. So, I guess that left Kenner to have the rest of the eggs all to himself. Everyone was happy!

This picture is out of focus but Myer just sat here with his egg forever. Then he finally got it open and was trying to gnaw on the contents through the wrapper. There was a yellow egg nearby I had been trying to get him to go after to no avail. He had his one and that was enough.

Happy Easter!

Continue down for two more posts!

Decorating

Getting couches in our front room really set the ball rolling for us to get in a decorating mood. We got some paint picked out and painted a tan color on most of the walls the beginning of April. Wayne had this grand idea of painting one wall this burgandy type color. I wasn't so sure about the idea but he was pretty insistent that this is what we would do. So, I finally let him go at it.

We finally have the room painted and I think it came together nicely. It is amazing what some paint can do to change the feel of a room. Now the rest of the house seems kinda boring. After finishing up the painting we found a nice long mirror to go on the dark burgandy wall in the entry. Then we found a cute little bench to go under the mirror and provide a place to sit and put your shoes on at the door. And it is a great little storage area for the shoes under the bench so they aren't all piled at the door. We also found a wall clock, our tables finally got delivered, and we got Wayne a chair for his desk so we could return the 4th chair to our table and quit moving it back and forth for meals since we moved Myer to the table to a booster. Whoa, that was a mouthful!

So, the room has gotten pretty full. It isn't too big of a room, so hopefully we haven't put too much in there but it feels cozy and nice and we are happy with our decorating thus far.

We attempted to move on to the kitchen and got a green color to try. Whoa, it wasn't the right shade so we are still trying to decide what color is going to work in there.

But, here are a few pics of the room.

This was taken after we got the walls painted brown. The color seems lighter in this pic. It looks different at different times of the day.

New Jammies

I bought Myer some new jammies a few weeks ago. I got a size 2T hoping they'd last longer then a few months.

I hadn't put them on him yet so the other night when I told Wayne that Myer wanted him to put some jammas on him after his bath, ;) Wayne decided it was about time he wore his new ones. It was a two piece set and when Kenner saw another set there he wanted to wear them. Myer was in the shirt and short set, so that left the long pants and the shirt. The pants were obviously going to be too long for Myer and they looked like they'd probably actually fit Kenner.

So, indeed they did. Myer in one, Kenner in the other. I just thought it was kinda funny that the same size of pajamas could accomodate both of my kids. Kenner's were a bit more snug on him, but not too bad. This is actually probably better so he is less likely too catch fire! You know the more snug the better! (this was the warning on the clothes. I can't remember the exact warning but something about them needing to fit snuggly and being flammable. Ever seen that warning on your kids close?)

So, here are the boys in Myer's matching set of jammas! Oh, and it was near impossible getting mostly Myer to sit still for a second to catch a picture of them together. So, some of these are on the move pics!

Can you tell Kenner is saying "Cheese!?"
