Kenner is 5!!

We celebrated Kenner's 5th birthday yesterday! Can you believe it, 5?! I think he had a pretty good day. It started off great with his mom coming to sing Happy Birthday to him to wake him up! No better way to wake up then that I am sure!

I got up bright and early to pop popcorn for his preschool treat and make a nice fresh batch of waffles and some eggs for a good birthday breakfast before school.

Then it was off to school. They had chapel at preshcool this day and were going to be recognizing all the kids with birthdays. So, Myer and I stuck around for that. I forgot to grab my camera. The teachers at school took pics so I should see if I can get a digital copy. Anyways, all the kids went up front with their birthday crowns on and the parents came up and stood with them as they all got recognized and we counted to whatever age they were turning and then we sang! Kenner kept trying to claim he was still 4!

After school he got to do his favorite thing, play MarioKart wii, and I didn't make him do any work to play since it was his birthday after all! He got a call from Grandma Hartman and when dad got home we headed to Olive Garden for dinner. So nice that our kids enjoy that place as much as we do!

Dinner tasted great and we even got some people to come sing Happy Birthday to Kenner. Here he is being sung to. He was grinning and I think felt pretty special!

Once we got home it was time for presents!

This year we got him some Legos to start out his collection and hopefully a new hobby! Grandma/pa Hartman also sent a lego set that built a cool helicopter and truck! Dad was just as or even more excited then Kenner! He's also been into writing/drawing so he got a little art creativity desk and I got him a blank notebook and folder for work and something to put it in.

He also got some bday money from Great Grandma/pa Hartman and Grandma/pa Lowder! He's excited to go shopping!

First item of business after opening gifts, putting together the helicopter!

Cute Birthday Boy! Getting so big! Famous icecream sandwich cake for us! I guess I'm lucky my family doesn't like cake much. These make everyone happy!

Happy Birthday Kenner, we love you!

New School Year!

Kenner started a new preschool this year. He missed the kindergarten cutoff by a day, but I was fine with him having another year before he started kinder.

He still goes twice a week and I'm excited about the new school. He's done pretty good so far the last three days he's been. He always seems to make friends with the girls :) and I think the hardest thing has been adjusting to the earlier time we have to be there. It makes for some tired and sometimes cranky kids when we are getting up earlier then we are use to and they are not going to sleep as quickly as usual because they've been sharing a room the last month or so. So, we are still adjusting to that and hopefully it'll get better.

Here are a few pics I took the morning of his first day. It was a bright morning and was hard to keep those eyes from squinting, hehe! I didn't even attempt to take the camera to school to get pics. Between trying to get there on time, juggling all the stuff we were carrying, keeping Myer in hand and my extra large front, I just decided it wasn't going to happen.

This one makes me laugh, it looks like he's crying but just that bright sun hurting the eyes!

It's been awhile since I blogged. The rest of our summer consisted of a trip to Utah to see Family the last part of June into July for two weeks. It was a good/fun visit. I would've blogged about it but we had to empty our camera card while there and the CD we burned the pics onto so I could have them when we got home didn't work. So, hopefully they are still saved and I can get them at a future date. By then though, and even now, that is old news!

We mostly have been trying to stay cool but have ventured out several times to swim at Six Flags and play at a few indoor play places. Don't have many pics of all that though. The summer sure did go quick. Now we are looking forward to another baby coming soon, only about 5 weeks left! Crazy!

Let the Summer Fun Begin!

We got passes to Six Flags over Memorial Day Weekend. We went that Friday with Wayne and took the kids on some rides after braving the crazy end of school year groups that were there. It took almost an hour to get through the line to even get into the park.

Yesterday we went with our neighbors to enjoy some fun. Unfortunately, the water park hasn't been open yet when we've gone (today is the first official day) so we could only do rides. I think our future visits will mostly entail hanging out at the pool. Too hot for anything else!

When we first got there! Had to go say hi to Miss Piggie. Is that her name?

First ride! Don't they look thrilled?!

Caught a funny expression on Kenner's face!

I didn't think Myer would be interested in seeing these big silly people but he got out of his stroller and went to say hi to Dorothy the Dinosaur. It was cute to watch him, he was being kinda shy.

Michelle was nice to take the kids on most of the rides and I stayed with the other two.

Whoooeeee it's hot and bright out here!

We found a ride that Kenner and Emma could go on all by themselves. They enjoyed going several times on the roller coaster together and it was fun for us they could just run up and do it themselves.

After getting off the roller coaster the first time. Kenner was pretty excited and wanted to keep going and going!

They redid the kids area since we were last there. They have a little water area with water coming up from different spots and a boat thing you can climb up on with slides.
It was refreshing to get a little wet here. Kenner enjoyed it the most and was pretty soaked!

After a few hot hours it was time to come home and get lunch, take naps and cool off! Next time we'll definitely be going to the water park! I can't wait!

Schools out for Summer!

Today was Kenner's last day of preschool! I'm kinda excited for the summer break and lazy mornings for a bit. But hopefully we don't go too stir crazy. We'll have to get out and do some fun things and make a trip to see family. Kenner will go back to do a summer session twice a week in July. So, that should help things.

Anyways, just wanted to post some pics from his little program today.

This is actually from Mother's Day. His class had the local bakery come in with these little cakes and the kids got to decorate the tops with frosting and sprinkles. Hmmmmm, nothing better then a nice big BLOB of frosting on top! It was actually a pretty good little cake. Just had to scrape some of the extras off a bit!

Today at graduation.
He was so smiley when he came in and kept smiling as we snapped pics!

The whole group of kids, 2,3 and 4 years olds, did a song and had signs to do with it. I was excited to see Kenner actually doing them. I was proud and almost wanted to just cry (tears of joy of course)!

Here at the end. Signing love or something. Kinda blurry and he's standing funny, haha! He was swaying around to the music almost the whole song. Cute!

Going up to get his certificate of graduation from his teacher Ms. Rosie.

I remembered when we got to the car to leave the graduation that I wanted a pic with us. Kinda late, Myer was already in his carseat. So, we just took one with me and one with Wayne.
