Kenner turned 6!!

We celebrated Kenner's 6th birthday today! I know if I don't post this now while I'm in the blogging mood who knows if it'll ever make it up.

He got up bright and early to head to school. He was quick to inform the bus driver that it was his birthday. Before she shut the door I heard her say, "Oh, it's your birthday, we'll have to sing to you!"

He came home adorned with a birthday crown and sticker. He also had a fun little gift pack from his teacher and a little card signed by all his friends in class. He got to share cookies with his class and I think it was a fun day for him.

He wanted to open a present before he left to school. I didn't have it wrapped yet but it was packed in the box it came in and was wrapped enough for him!
Ah, new trains!

He was thrilled!

Playing after school with the new trains on their small little track. No clue what awaits them!

Opened a card from his Great Grandparents before dinner. Satisfied his desire to open something. Pleased to find $20!

We headed to our usual place to celebrate, the Olive Garden. Enjoyed a nice meal there and headed home for presents.

The boys have really gotten into Thomas the Train lately. They finally started playing with that Figure 8 track Kenner got several Christmas's ago from grandparents. So, I decided for Kenner's birthday we'd get some more track and a few trains. Hoping to carry on their interest until Christmas when I can get more stuff!

Well, earlier this week I was out visiting and somehow we started talking about trains and she had a huge tubberware full of track and misc. trains and bridges etc. and she wanted to get rid of it. The stuff I had ordered online had already arrived but after telling Wayne about it and how much she was asking he was like "Get it!" So, we spent $25 more and got a ton more track then we would've had and several bridges and other parts and trains. Knowing how much the wood train stuff sales for probably 1-2 of them would've made up the price difference. So, I sent back the other set I got that was small in comparison and we totally outfitted the boys (I mean Kenner, it was his birthday right?! But we knew they were both going to play with it and maybe fight over it.) with track and trains to their hearts content!

I separated out the tubberware of stuff I got into a few different boxes to give him several things to open.

Ewww, trains!

Ahhh, tracks!

Myer is so very interested and right by his side!

Let's get building!

There's trouble right there! He likes to come along and just yank the track up!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENNER!!

Also got a "First day of School" post up below incase you didn't see it.

First Days of School

Kenner started Kindergarten this year! He just finished his second week and he's enjoyed it. It must be pretty exciting because he's been going without much complaint. I've been so pleased with how well he has gone and how grown up he seems. I guess two years of preschool worked the fits out of him and it's been nice. He has been waking up to an alarm instead of me and that seems to help as well.

The first day I dropped him off he got out of the car and didn't want me to take him in. They had teachers around helping and he decided that was good enough. He just took off without looking back. I was standing there thinking, "but uh, uh, uh, wait a second, where's my hug, where's my kiss." I was proud yet sad.

It's just been an adjustment to the very early morning we have each and every day. With preschool it wasn't nearly as early and we had a break in between days. This everyday stuff wears me out a bit.

Anyways, the real reason for this post is to share pics of the boys' first day of school. Myer also started a little preschool twice a week. It's alot longer then he is use to but he's been doing pretty well also. My boys are growing up!

Pretty exciting getting to ride the bus!

By the time Myer had to be to school the sun was out in full force and it was hard to keep his eyes open in the bright light!

Summer Fun to Beat the Heat!

I can't believe summer is almost over and school starts in almost 2 weeks! Craziness! I can't believe I still haven't blogged about our San Francisco and Utah trip back in June. I'm not sure what the chances are it will ever make its appearance on here. . . . We'll see.

But for now I just have some pics to share (although not the best because they were just taken on my phone) of the fun we got out to have today and last week to beat this awful heat. It's either stay inside or go play somewhere fun indoors for us. Well, I take that back, I have managed a few trips to the park in the last month or so. One wasn't too bad but whoooeeeee not so pleasant this time of year. Especially this heat that has hit us this last week or so!

We met up with our friends and had a great time last week at Just Add Children. It's always fun to have a friend to chat with while your kids play! Despite the small room and the complete mayhem going on at times with kids getting hurt and taking toys etc. from each other we managed to stay for four hours and enjoyed our time. It started to slow down a bit after lunch and that was nice.

Checking things out when we first arrived. This I think was more of the toddler section.

This bouncy house and slide entertained the boys most of the time.

They also had a toy kitchen area, a dress up room, a pirate ship, a climing wall, airhockey tables and a game room with a wii and other consoles. Luckily, my boys didn't make their way into that room until near the end.

This little guy hung tight for awhile and just watched everything going on. When it calmed down a bit and there wasn't really anyone in this little bounce house I put him in and he had a ball!
e

I didn't get a good shot of this but he was just a giggling!

Little Cutie!

The boys enjoyed the bouncy house at Just Add Children so much I wondered if they'd have as much fun going to Pump it Up with lots of different bounce houses. So that is what we did today. At first when we went in they were a bit hesitant, especially Myer. They had a group in one of the play rooms so we had to stay in the one and Myer was having a hard time climbing up the stuff and was kinda not happy. I got a little worried that it may not be as fun as I hoped. Fortunately, we hadn't been there long and they had us switch rooms. The other room seemed to be a bit better for them to get into it. But man I tell you, these places can get crazy!

Myer finally took to going down this big slide and I think they spent the majority of their time going on this.

Zooming so fast, they are just blurs!

Then it was funny because after a bit they opened up both rooms and we went back to the other and Myer all of a sudden could climb up all the stuff like a pro! I guess he just needed lots of practice going up the one in the other room and then he got the hang of things.

Myer hopped in this little car and this little boy just came up and started pushing him around in it FAST! He liked it!
It ended up being lots of fun and I was happy to see my boys having fun for most of those three hours!

Pictures Galore!

I haven't posted any pics in forever. I finally got a bunch pulled off my camera and I have quite a few to post of the happenings I have caught on camera over the last several months.....How would you feel about 40 pics or so in one post?! I think it'd be awesome!! Whose in it for the long haul?

Man, I've felt guilty since January for never posting anything from Myer's 3rd birthday. So, to maybe make me feel a little better, here he is with his birthday cupcakes. He helped me make them and ate a few for an early lunch even! What a nice mom he has!

Blowing out the candles.
Happenings that day included making cupcakes, getting Kenner out of school early to go to an indoor play place and eating lunch there, Dinner at Olive Garden (so glad my kids like that place as much as we do) and opening presents!

These boys can sure play great sometimes. They have also shown me just how not so great they can play together as well over the last few months. But these times are the best!!

So flexible!

The first part of April we had a fun visit from Wayne's family. Some of those pics are on my phone and other camera I think. But Grandma kindly helped give Fischer his first haircut!

Before. He mostly just has this big bush of hair on top!

Snip, snip. There it goes!

Handsome boy!

Starting solids

Myer really wanted to help and kept giving him bites. It was cute.

Some sprinkler fun!

Assisting Fischer in sitting up

Kenner begged and begged for months for this pool to be brought out but it hadn't got quite hot enough. Until this day, I finally got it out!

Easter egg hunt in the backyard on Saturday.

Fischer enjoyed the egg hunt from here!
Forgot to get an Easter pics of all the boys together after church, darn.

I've never really filled the kids baskets for Easter with anything but when your at the store late crazy things happen! I all of a sudden got excited and wanted to buy some fun things for their baskets besides the candy they got from the egg hunt. So, here is what they got to find from the Easter Bunny.
Funny thing, is we have never really done the Easter Bunny before. So, it was kinda random but Kenner was getting into it and I had told Myer to put his basket on the couch before he went to bed. Well, before Kenner was heading to bed he asked me to put his basket outside in the grass. When I asked why he said, "so the Easter Bunny can find it!" He he, I thought that was so funny and made perfect sense really. I told him to go ask dad about it, mostly because I thought it was so funny and wanted Wayne to hear it. So, he went and asked Dad if he could put his basket outside so the bunny could find it. So, I decided to put their baskets by the door. Since it was coming from outside of course!

This little guy is sure growing up and is such a sweetie!

First time sitting in the grass. He enjoyed it and looked so darn cute I couldn't help but snap a ton of pictures. This isn't even half of it!
