Some New Posts - Birthday Party

I have four new posts to put up so make sure you catch them all below. Some fun stuff has been going on so it is time for a new post!

First off, I'll start with the birthday party we got to attend last weekend. They had it at this Rainbow Play Systems place and they had like 15+ play equipment things up for demo. So, the kids could just run free and play. It was really fun but we got a bit tired in the heat after a bit. They also served a nice lunch, had some cake, pinatas, and she made a really cute gift bag for all the kids. It was a fun Party!

First day of Preschool!

I put Kenner in a little preschool this year. He goes twice a week for about 5 1/2 hours. I was a bit nervous how he would handle it since he hasn't ever been to something away from me for that long. But this week he has gone and he must've enjoyed it because he went again the 2nd day without a fight and he was asking to go to school today. I was proud of how well he went. He seemed a bit nervous at first but after being there for a few minutes and checking out the toys they had out as the kids came in he finally gave me a big hug and kiss and said, "Bye Mom!" I'm excited for him to do this this year!

I hope he doesn't think we have to take a picture each day we go to school. The 2nd day we got there he was like "take a picture mom." So here he is on day #2!

*I am finding that some people's feed readers that tell them when someone has updated their blog isn't showing my first original post to tell you there are other posts to follow. I did four about the same time today. So, I just wanted to make sure you check out some older or newer posts to make sure you got them all if your feed reader missed it!

Things we should have been doing ALL summer!

Last week we decided to join our old wards playgroup at one of their pools. It was kinda hard to believe with this summer heat this was our first dip in a "real" pool. We all had a great time. It was very refreshing and I wish we had been doing it all along. Here are two pics my friend was nice enough to take and send to me!

Then today we went to an indoor play area that we have been to before but it has been awhile. Another great place for the kids to run around and have fun out of the heat. I am just scratching my head wondering why we haven't been enjoying these things more often this summer! But it is still hot so maybe we can do them a few more times before cooler weather sets in!

*These were taken on my phone so not the best but still fun!*

In front of the moonbounce doing some funny stance!

The last time we were here I had to lift Kenner up to this and I followed him all the way to the end to make sure he didn't fall too far to the ground when he was done. This time he's big enough to do it all by himself!

Blurry, but look at him go!

Myer didn't like the little rocking horse so much!

I couldn't get my kids to leave this place today. Everyone else from our group had left but Kenner just didn't want to leave. We'll have to go back.

Random Pics of the kids for your enjoyment! ;)

After I signed Kenner up for preschool I was trying to get him excited about it so we went and found him a new backpack. Myer got his hands on it and I thought he was pretty cute rolling it around!

Running around like a bunch of crazy kids, oh wait they are!

Myer loves his cars. He has several places in the house he likes to line them up and drive them around. The arm of the couch, the coffee table, our bed, my nightstand. It is so cute to watch him play with them.

Then he gets pretty serious about it all and I just love his serious/concentrating face!

A Trip to the Dentist!

Today Kenner had his first visit to the dentist and did really well, I was proud of him. Wayne and I have been into the dentist the last few weeks to have our check ups and cleanings so Kenner started asking to go see the dentist as well. I had to wait until August for him to get changed onto our dentist office roster and then get a referral letter for him to go see a pediatric dentist. Anyways, he kept asking to go and I told him I had to get an appointment first. So, I got one set up and I had to keep telling him he'd have to wait until that day.

Well, today came and I think he got a bit nervous about it realizing it was actually going to happen. He told me he wanted to go play with the neighbor instead where Myer was going to be while we went. Then when we were filling out paperwork and waiting at the dentist office, he asked several times to leave the dentist.

But we stuck with it and finally got called back and he did a great job letting them take 2 xrays of his top and bottom teeth. The lady showed him the little cleaner brush they use to clean your teeth and let him touch it. He thought that was pretty cool. He got a bit nervous when the dentist walked in, and when they laid his chair back. But he sat through it all with mom by his side and let them in his mouth, clean it up a bit and he was done! I was glad he did so well for his first visit. Previously when I had ever mentioned dentists he'd say he didn't want to go. So, I envisioned the day I finally took him to the dentist there would be weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth, but it went alot better! Phew!

So, here are a few pics I took of his first visit.

Looking a bit excited! I took another pic that he didn't look quite so happy. :)

Got his little bib on now. The Dr. had just walked in and he got all shy. He was eyeing her off in the corner and I got a little smirk. She was trying to get him to smile.

What a stud!

And I just can't end without mentioning a bit more. I was going to do a whole post on this a few weeks ago because I was sooooo excited but never did. I just had to mention that we FINALLY after trying out two different dentist offices' here and not having too good of luck and starting to REALLY hate dentists (remember my post awhile back about our bad experiences) that we finally found a great place to go. Thanks to some of your referrlas, Michelle and Leah, we got switched over to the dentist you were using and it was quite the opposite experience to be in their office and be treated so politetly and not feel like they were trying to scam us with dental treatments we didn't need.

We had to pay extra to have flouride treatments at this last office we had been to, like $30 because our insurance doesn't cover it on adults. I asked this place if they'd be doing fluoride as well and what would happen if our insurance didn't cover it, and he was like oh we'll do it and just not bill you! Are you serious, I was amazed. We were actually able to schedule Wayne and myself on the SAME day, we took the kids and didn't feel guilty for having them there. In fact, they had two play stations set up with Mario Kart on it. Let's just say Kenner was not a pain at that visit and sat quite contently playing while we were there (maybe that is why he wanted to go back to the dentist so bad, he thought he'd get to play games!). And that pit our last dentist wanted to charge us like $300 to fill on Wayne, we only paid $25.20 at this new place!! So, it was just great and we are sooooooo happy to have finally found a place we can trust and feel happy about going to. I think I am finally starting to feel better about dentists now!

A bit messy!

Myer has been feeding himself alot more things lately that I usually try to do myself to help keep things less messy. Oh well, I guess they won't learn any other way.

"What's the problem mom? Is there something on my face?!"

I sometimes have good intentions to keep my posts short and sweet but then I just can't help myself and have to add more pictures then necessary because they are just so darn cute to me and any slight change in facial expression has to be shared! :)

Our little nursery boy!

The much anticipated day of handing Myer over to the nursery came today! I think it was more of a relief for Wayne since he is the one that had to deal with Myer during the 2 hours after Sacrament meeting. He's been anxiously awaiting this day. In preparation he decided to take Myer the last two Sundays and sit with him in there. Myer was kinda hesitant during those visits, didn't participate a whole lot, and stuck kinda close to dad.

Well, today he was officially 18 months, and dad was not going to mess around! He was in to drop him off and he wasn't going to hang around like a mother would worrying how he was going to do his first time being left. I think it might be helpful that I wasn't involved in this whole process and Myer isn't use to even being around me during that time so maybe it is a bit easier to break away from dad then the old softy mom.

I was walking behind them when Wayne walked into the nursery room with Myer today. Myer walked in just fine, paused for a second like "wait a sec, do I really want to be in here?" then continued walking. That was the last I saw. I peeked in later and saw him happily playing (phew, such a relief!). He stayed the whole time and the ladies said he did just fine. The first bit he wanted to sit with someone but after awhile he was fine by himself and played.

The little stink! He's developed quite the personality here lately!

Posing some more. Kenner would not put his hands down but I liked the shot of Myer.
These two are quite the characters. They play really well together sometimes and I love seeing them chasing each other around giggling. But lately they are also starting to fight over stuff more. Oh they joys that await us with that I am sure!

Can't leave this little guy out!

So we are a bit excited at how well Myer has taken to nursery so far, knock on wood! Hopefully it will continue. It definitely was a whole different story with Kenner and not one we want to repeat! Wayne is happy to be able to attend his regular classes now and enjoy them!
